Kaouthar appeared in an article of the Dutch newspaper Trouw: De Koran vanuit vrouwelijk perspectief.
This in conjunction of the lecture Amina Wadud gave at Atria (click here to read the news item about this lecture).
On Saturday 13 May, Kaouthar was present at a lecture from Emeritus professor en islamitisch theologe Amina Wadud, at Atria, kennisinstituut voor emancipatie en vrouwengeschiedenis.
“Happy to meet professor Amina Wadud who enlightened a whole generation Muslim women, and men, with the importance of a feminine interpretation of the holy texts in Islam, including the Coran. There is no religious émancipation possible, or any kind of emancipation, without the feminine voice. The Feminine Face of Leadership, in ALL our institutions, East and West, is not anymore a ‘Nice to have’, it’s now, anno 2017, a ´Must to have’.”
On this page a photo impression (click for a large version) and an excerpt from the podcast where Kaouthar asks Dr Amina a question.
In the beginning of May Kaouthar was a guest speaker at Excelerate Conference 2017, Groyourbiz with the Speed of Collaboration in Vancouver – Canada.
This was Kaouthar’s first step to bring her work to the America’s. Her lecture, during which she of course also let her audience dance with her, was enthusiastically received.
Some quotes from Twitter:
“When we think of leadership, why do we only think of wisdom of brain and not the wisdom of the body?”
“Her success is my success.”
“Western women have a negative view of their bodies. Women should love their bodies, they’re God’s creation.”
“How often do we give the “other” the authority and yet our body tells us otherwise?”
“Feminity is fun.”
“Never learned to belly #dance at a #conference before!”
“Thank you @kaouthardarmoni for the unique and empowering movement experience throughout the #EXCElerate2017 conference!”

In the article “De baas is op cursus” of the Financieel Dagblad of 13 April 2017, Petra van Dieren talks about how Kaouthar’s work has helped her in her professional life. To use femininity in leadership.
